I have used UK2.net for a few years now and they are very good for simple domain name registration. The best bit is that you actually own the name, not them. So it’s a bit different to all the places that let you have a free domain name if you host with them. You can also do web diversion which allows you to host your site with anyone (even yourself) and just point your domain name to the place where your website actually sits.
